The SARS-CoV-2 & COVID-19 situation continues to evolve.
The following protocols are currently in place at KJWR. As recommendations by the government and health authorities change, this page will reflected those changes.
Health and safety should be paramount in all repair shops.
As someone with a compromised immune system, Kim takes health and safety education (including correct use of PPE) extremely seriously, both professionally and personally.
If you have questions or concerns please contact KJWR Inc..
Kim / KJWR Inc. has taken the following additional educational steps to help protect both clients (and herself):
(taken 2020) A St. John Ambulance course designed for healthcare (and similar) environments. Instrument Repair Shops are very similar to healthcare environment in terms of infection control.
This specific education platform was designed to address the needs of instrument repair.
This is an ongoing program, lead by various virology specialists, (currently) already consists of over 5 hours of online seminars and Q&A, as well as a large volume of additional written content.
Shipping companies are still adjusting to the "new normal" of shipping volumes, and are generally not guaranteeing next day delivery.
For Canada Post (off Island) KJWR recommends 2 day delivery.
For UPS, FedEx and Purolator, shipping times seem to be mostly back to "pre-Covid timelines" with the exception of holidays.
Safe Drop & Signature information
KJWR is still operating under basically "full quarantine" , and the shop is located onsite, which means there's always someone here to receive packages. This is important for clients to know, since couriers are currently doing "zero contact" deliveries. This means that they are generally NOT collecting signatures.
When arranging to send your instrument back, you will be contacted to confirm if you would like your instrument:
*Normally all packages sent from KJWR require a signature and are clearly labelled "do not safe drop" - which ensures they must physically be received by a person, not left unattended at a location (e.g. outside a front door). KJWR Inc. is not responsible for Covid delivery policies of shipping services.
