Updated March 2022
The SARS-CoV-2 & COVID-19 situation continues to evolve.
The following protocols are currently in place at KJWR. As recommendations by the government, health authorities and internal KJWR policies change, this page will reflected those changes.
Health and safety should be paramount in all repair shops.
This means following CCOHS, OHSA, and WHMIS guidelines and being committed to continuing health and safety education.
As someone with a compromised immune system, Kim takes health and safety education (including correct use of PPE) extremely seriously, both professionally and personally.
If you have questions or concerns please contact KJWR Inc..
Kim / KJWR Inc. has taken the following additional educational steps to help protect both clients (and herself):
(taken 2020) A St. John Ambulance course designed for healthcare (and similar) environments. Instrument Repair Shops are very similar to healthcare environment in terms of infection control.
This specific education platform was designed to address the needs of instrument repair.
This is an ongoing program, lead by various virology specialists, (currently) already consists of over 5 hours of online seminars and Q&A, as well as a large volume of additional written content.
For instruments sent in using commercial courier (Canada Post, Purolator, FedEx, UPS etc.) all shipped instruments require the "Instrument Appointment Form" to be filled out and emailed in (a hard copy can also be included with the instrument, if possible).
Shipping Services and Times
Currently Purolator seems to have the most reliable shipping times, at a reasonable price.
Canada Post and UPS have also generally been fairly reliable. Please feel free to contact Kim to see what service may be best from your specific location.
Safe Drop & Signature information
KJWR is still operating under "quarantine" and there's always someone here to receive packages (please make sure to provide KJWR with Tracking information).
When arranging to send your instrument back, you will be contacted to confirm if you would like your instrument:
*Normally all packages sent from KJWR require a signature and are clearly labelled "do not safe drop" - which ensures they must physically be received by a person, not left unattended at a location (e.g. outside a front door). KJWR Inc. is not responsible for Covid delivery policies of shipping services.
This can be downloaded and filled out in any PDF viewer, or printed off and completed by hand.
